About the role

We are a top Design Build Construction Management firm with a strong project pipeline of very highly technical projects including life science. We are looking to add experienced construction superintendents to our team.

Pay

$110,000 – $165,000 per year

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all on-site construction activities for life science projects, ensuring that they are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with project specifications.
  • Coordinate and supervise the work of all on-site personnel, including subcontractors and consultants, to ensure high-quality work and adherence to project plans.
  • Implement and maintain strict quality control procedures, identifying any issues or discrepancies and taking corrective action as necessary.
  • Communicate effectively with all stakeholders, including clients, architects, engineers, and team members, to ensure clear understanding of project status and any potential issues or delays.
  • Provide strong leadership to the project team, fostering a positive work environment and promoting teamwork and collaboration.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and practices, maintaining a safe and secure work environment at all times.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and progress meetings, providing detailed reports and updates to project management.
  • Solve any on-site problems or conflicts, using strong negotiation and problem-solving skills.
  • Continually assess and manage project risks, implementing mitigation strategies as necessary.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Superintendent in the construction industry, with specific experience in life science or other technical projects.
  • Proven experience in quality control, with a strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey information to a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Proven leadership abilities, with experience leading and managing teams to successful project completion.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations, with specific knowledge of life science facilities.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex construction drawings and specifications.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
  • Proficient in the use of construction management software and technology.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
