Superintendent III
Position Summary
Pepel Construction is seeking an experienced Field Supervisor with a focus on K-12 and Higher Education projects. In this role, you will be responsible for the overall direction of educational construction projects, including schedule management, budget oversight, and team leadership.
Position Responsibilities
- Site Management: Plan and schedule the project, including short interval schedules. Schedule manpower and develop a working budget based on the estimates and project schedule.
- Control Job Progress: Control job progress by managing subcontractors, solving problems and conflicts, using proper documentation, quality control, and safety control techniques on the job.
- Control Project Costs: Demonstrate superior construction process knowledge. Control project costs by weekly evaluation of labor, material, and equipment costs, adjusting to ensure a fair profit while maximizing customer satisfaction.
- People Management: Ensure client satisfaction by recognizing and meeting all the client's needs. Provide leadership through team building, communication, motivation, confidence, good judgment, and listening to others. Manage, mentor, and coach. Self-initiate and motivate. Ensure that all parties understand the importance of safety to your project and educate those that need it.
Position Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Engineering/Management or related curriculum from an accredited University preferred
- General Contractor experience in the Higher Education, K-12 and Industrial Markets
- Significant experience with at least 10 years as a manager of commercial construction activities in the field
- Must possess superior construction knowledge and excellent personnel management skills
- Demonstrated ability to work with educational institutions, understanding their unique requirements and regulatory environments
- Willing to travel in-state for projects
