Superintendent II

About the role

Metcalf Builders, Inc. is seeking a Superintendent to join our construction team, helping expand our core values of Safety, Integrity, Trust, and Excellence. The Superintendent works with the Project Manager and reports to the General Superintendent, supervising and coordinating all activities to ensure projects are completed safely, within specifications, time frames, and budgetary requirements. If assigned, the Superintendent will assist, train, and mentor Assistant Superintendents on their projects.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and participates in planning and set-up of assigned projects.
• Maintains care, custody, and control of the jobsite in alignment with our Safety Culture.
• Works with the Project Manager/Assistant Project Manager to develop the project schedule.
• Communicates with Assistant Project Managers, Project Managers, inspectors, subcontractors, owners/architects, and suppliers to coordinate workflow, facilitate communications, and resolve construction problems.
• Oversees the purchasing and planning of equipment and materials.
• Supervises activities of all field workers and subcontractors on assigned projects.
• Performs close-out duties.
• Performs general administrative and supervisory duties related to job site operations, including compliance with company policies, state and federal laws, OSHA requirements, building codes, and non-discrimination/non-harassment requirements.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Knowledge of the construction industry and all phases of construction projects.
• B.S. in Construction, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent through experience.
• 8 years’ experience in the construction industry.
