Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Study specifications to plan procedures for construction on basis of start and completion times and staffing requirements for each phase of construction.
- Work in conjunction with Project Manager to provide information necessary to complete project plan.
- Change Orders
- Pricing changes
- Delay notifications
- Schedule and conduct on-site project review and schedule meetings.
- Determine work schedule and manpower levels for each project assignment.
- Create or assist PM in developing project schedule and updating schedule during construction.
- Create weekly, 3-week look-ahead schedule for distribution to project team.
- Discuss: procurement issues, manpower and bottlenecks.
- Ensure proper start-up and close-out of projects including obtaining appropriate documentation from vendors and/or subcontractors.
- Procure tools and materials to be delivered at specified times to conform to work schedules.
- Navigate iPad to use email, complete daily reports in ProCore, job site safety audits and other work as needed.
- Complete necessary paperwork such as inspection logs, jobsite sign-in sheets, on-site material purchases, labor reports and schedules.
- Turn in all receipts, delivery tickets, change order tickets, reports, paperwork and timesheets to the Project Manager weekly by end of day Monday.
- Maintain and organize updated on-site plans and project files.
- Confer with and direct supervisory personnel and subcontractors engaged in planning and executing work procedures, interpreting specification and coordinating various phases of construction to prevent delays.
- Supervise field personnel including scheduling of manpower and evaluating their abilities.
- Confer with supervisory personnel and crews to resolve complaints and grievances within work force.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company rules and project procedures.
- Document any violation and recommend corrective action.
- Understand and follow HB safety policy.
- Maintain all SDS files, safety posters, emergency numbers and fire extinguishers.
- Keep first aid kits and PPE stocked on the jobsite at all times.
- Direct and document weekly safety meeting.
- Attend OSHA 30-hour safety counsel every 5 years.
- Perform jobsite safety checklist over entire jobsite once each week.
- Fill out all accident reports and investigations. Turn findings into the office.
- Perform unsolicited follow-up of past clients both during and following warranty period.
- Aid Project Manager in generating RFIs with possible solution recommendation.
- Inspect work in progress to ensure that workmanship conforms to specifications and the adherence to construction schedules.
- Supervise total construction effort to ensure project is constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule.
- Understand building department codes and regulations.
- Tactfully communicate with the inspector to pass field inspections first time called.
- Estimate and price of small jobs and change orders.
Education And Experience Requirements
- High school education and a minimum of 6 to 10 years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must possess strong knowledge of all facets in construction (i.e. A1A Divisions 1-16).
- Certification for all tools that workmen under direct supervision are using.
- OSHA 10-hour certification required.
- OSHA 30-hour certification preferred.
- First Aid and CPR certification preferred.
- Completion of the AGC STP course or willingness to work toward completion.
- Reliable transportation and a valid, Florida Driver License required.
Physical Demands
- Potential to be exposed to rain and/or extreme heat or cold in outdoor environment.
- Potential to be exposed to loud noises and machinery for long periods of time.
- Potential to be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, electrical shock and vibration.
- Ability to stand and walk up to 10 hours in a day.
- Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl for short periods of time.
- Must be able to occasionally lift, push, pull or carry up to 50 pounds.
- Feeling in hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls.
- Full range of motion needed in arms and hands.
- Ability to climb and balance.
- Ability to read warning signs and judge distances.
- Ability to hear warning signals and conversation.
