Full-time, salaried exempt position. Field hours: 7 am–3:30 pm; office hours: 8 am–5 pm, Monday through Friday, with additional hours as needed.
About the role
Responsible for on-site coordination of all trades and employees for construction of the project.
Responsibilities
- Manage and drive the preconstruction process alongside the preconstruction team.
- Assist in the development of proposal interview strategy and execution with the marketing and preconstruction teams.
- Oversee daily jobsite activities for a single project.
- Implement and report on jobsite safety programs.
- Schedule and coordinate subcontractors and material deliveries.
- Ensure employee safety and project housekeeping.
- Report accidents of any type to the Safety Team in a timely manner.
- Notify the Senior Superintendent and Project Manager of labor and material needs.
- Keep daily time records and accurate cost centers for each employee.
- Code materials to proper cost centers.
- Create and maintain daily job reports.
- Review shop drawings for contract conformance, field dimensions, etc.
- Maintain jobsite “record set” drawings.
- Take and maintain jobsite progress photographs.
- Obtain and track all necessary city inspections.
- Obtain and terminate all temporary utilities requests.
- Attend all jobsite meetings.
- Complete all punch list items.
- Turn over keys and obtain a written receipt from owner.
- Perform weekly review of job costs.
- Maintain quality control.
- Manage tool and equipment maintenance.
- Build client relations.
- Mentor and train Assistant Superintendents and Assistant Project Managers on their job duties.
- Assist the project team as required.
- Complete training requirements as assigned and ensure Project Team is actively participating in assigned training.
- Additional duties as required.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must have experience supervising numerous commercial projects.
- 7 years of relevant experience in commercial construction; 10+ years preferred.
- Experience with projects sized +$50M (CMAR).
- Familiarity with the preconstruction process of a Construction Manager at Risk contract.
- Preferred previous project experience in a higher ed school system within the State of Texas.
- Must have experience with higher education, K-12, and healthcare projects.
- Some college experience with drafting, surveying, Total Station, or CAD a plus.
- Confine Space Awareness, Defensive Driving, First Aid/CPR/AED certifications preferred.
- OSHA 30 certification.
- Willing to travel.
