Superintendent - Restaurant Construction Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Superintendent to lead restaurant construction projects from pre-construction through closeout for one of the premier general contrators in southern Florida. The Superintendent will be responsible for on-site oversight of schedule, quality, safety and subcontractor performance for retail and restaurant builds. This role requires strong construction leadership, clear communication with clients and project teams, and hands-on problem solving to deliver projects on time, on budget and to specification. Key ResponsibilitiesOversee day-to-day construction activities on restaurant and retail sites, ensuring work is performed safely, on schedule and to quality standards.Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, trades and vendor deliveries; manage on-site workforce and resolve performance issues promptly.Implement and enforce site safety programs and OSHA requirements; conduct regular safety meetings, inspections and incident reporting.Maintain and update project schedules, sequencing, and daily reports; communicate progress and schedule changes to project managers and stakeholders.Perform quality control inspections at key milestones; ensure installation conforms to plans, specifications and local codes.Manage material logistics and coordinate timely deliveries to avoid schedule delays; secure and protect on-site materials and equipment.Support bid preparation and pre-construction activities by providing site assessments, labor estimates and constructability input when requested.Facilitate coordination between field crews, design teams, permitting authorities and client representatives to resolve issues and approvals.Track and control field costs, document change orders and assist project management with cost mitigation strategies.Conduct project closeout activities including punch lists, final inspections, turnover documentation and lessons learned.Travel regularly to project sites as required to provide on-site supervision and support across multiple regions.QualificationsMinimum 5+ years of superintendent or foreman experience on restaurant or retail construction projects; demonstrated track record delivering multiple store openings.Strong knowledge of restaurant and retail construction methods, building codes, MEP coordination and finish carpentry.Proven experience with scheduling, daily reporting, quality control and site safety programs (OSHA 30 preferred).Excellent ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications and contract documents.Demonstrated skills in supervising subcontractors, conflict resolution and on-site negotiation.Experience working in fast-track, multi-site rollout environments and familiarity with big-box retail projects is a plus.Proven experience or comfort with travel to multiple job sites and regional oversight responsibilities.Familiarity with bid preparation, cost estimating and change order documentation preferred.Effective communication skills with clients, project teams and field personnel; strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.Valid drivers license; ability to work flexible hours on-site and lift/inspect in active construction environments.
