Ralph L Wadsworth Construction (RLW) is seeking a Superintendent with roadway earthwork and urban reconstruction experience. These qualifications are mandatory. Candidates must have experience with large-scale roadway projects (e.g., $70 million+) including grading, subgrading, prepping long strips of roadway, excavation, and related tasks.

Responsibilities
- Read, understand, interpret, and enforce safety policies and practices.
- Read and understand plans, specifications, and local building codes.
- Schedule and document all required inspections, quality testing, or other compliance requirements.
- Complete daily reports such as units complete, safety reports, EEO meetings, and weekly unit cost worksheets.
- Read and understand global project schedules and generate two-week construction schedules weekly.
- Schedule and order materials, inspections, and manpower to meet project schedules and specifications.
- Inspect work in progress to ensure workmanship conforms to specifications and adheres to construction schedules.
- Confer with and direct personnel and subcontractors engaged in planning and executing work, interpreting specifications, and coordinating various phases of construction to prevent delays.
- Maintain a general knowledge of equipment used on the job, including basic understanding of equipment limits and designed purposes.
- Track delivery, use, and completion of rentals on the job.
- Complete regular performance reviews for employees under your direction in a timely manner, ensuring employees understand, sign, and receive a copy of their review.
Requirements
- A minimum of 10 years of roadway superintendent or foreperson work experience leading heavy equipment crews (e.g., grader, trackhoe, backhoe, loader, crane, etc.).
- A minimum of 10 years of work experience and understanding of all phases of roadway/highway construction.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience on roadway, earthwork, or road-widening projects.
- A minimum of 10 years of DOT roadway project experience.
- Four or more years of related experience and/or training; or a bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
