Position Summary

The Superintendent will supervise all subcontractors and work closely with the project manager on each job site. TYPICAL DUTIES include:

  • Supervises subcontractors and provides a liaison between the architects, engineers, owner’s representatives, inspectors, and trades to ensure construction complies with drawings and specifications.
  • Plans the work schedule, holds job site meetings, monitors manpower levels, material quantities, and equipment requirements.
  • Oversees work performance and productivity of trades to ensure the schedule, project rules, procedures, safety requirements, and inspections are maintained.
  • Advises the project manager of potential problems, scheduling difficulties, and work interferences, and is proactive in circumventing/resolving such problems as required.
  • Performs additional assignments per supervisor’s direction, and some limited hands-on labor duties may occasionally be required.

Requirements

  • Valid Driver’s license is required.
  • Must pass criminal background check and Pre-employment drug screening.
  • Minimum 5 years commercial construction experience in a supervisory capacity required.
  • Minimum 3 years healthcare construction experience required.
  • Experience working with multiple healthcare systems preferred.
  • Must be proficient in understanding and/or implementing healthcare specific requirements, such as ICRA/PCRA requirements and upkeep, patient safety and renovations in occupied healthcare settings, special systems, DHSR, etc.
  • Previous renovation experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of various construction disciplines, scheduling, safety regulations, architectural/structural/PME drawings, and other documents.
  • Basic computer skills required; construction software experience favored.
  • Able to supervise and evaluate subcontractor performance is essential.
  • Must have a positive and cooperative attitude and excellent attendance.
