Position Summary
The Superintendent will supervise all subcontractors and work closely with the project manager on each job site. TYPICAL DUTIES include:
- Supervises subcontractors and provides a liaison between the architects, engineers, owner’s representatives, inspectors, and trades to ensure construction complies with drawings and specifications.
- Plans the work schedule, holds job site meetings, monitors manpower levels, material quantities, and equipment requirements.
- Oversees work performance and productivity of trades to ensure the schedule, project rules, procedures, safety requirements, and inspections are maintained.
- Advises the project manager of potential problems, scheduling difficulties, and work interferences, and is proactive in circumventing/resolving such problems as required.
- Performs additional assignments per supervisor’s direction, and some limited hands-on labor duties may occasionally be required.
Requirements
- Valid Driver’s license is required.
- Must pass criminal background check and Pre-employment drug screening.
- Minimum 5 years commercial construction experience in a supervisory capacity required.
- Minimum 3 years healthcare construction experience required.
- Experience working with multiple healthcare systems preferred.
- Must be proficient in understanding and/or implementing healthcare specific requirements, such as ICRA/PCRA requirements and upkeep, patient safety and renovations in occupied healthcare settings, special systems, DHSR, etc.
- Previous renovation experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of various construction disciplines, scheduling, safety regulations, architectural/structural/PME drawings, and other documents.
- Basic computer skills required; construction software experience favored.
- Able to supervise and evaluate subcontractor performance is essential.
- Must have a positive and cooperative attitude and excellent attendance.
