Superintendent (Healthcare)

Responsibilities

• Work with Project Manager in preparation of project schedule and budget.
• Become thoroughly familiar with the plans, specifications, contracts, subcontracts, purchase orders, daily correspondence, shop drawings, and all documents related to the project.
• Select methods and acquire equipment for the project.
• Understand and enforce company safety policies and organize safety meetings with employees and supervisors.
• Select and employ or discharge workmen and intermediate foremen as needed to ensure safe, efficient, economical, and timely completions of the work.
• Assure accurate completion or all documentation including safety reports, payroll preparation, labor unit report.
• Conduct meetings with subordinates, subcontractors and others as appropriate in order to inform, coordinate and direct work.
• Assure accurate completion or all documentation including safety reports, payroll preparation, labor unit report.
• Approve or disapprove invoices and monies spent on the job, and verify coding on all invoices and requisitions.
• Instruct supervisors in job direction and company policies and procedures.
• Inspect the work of employees and subcontractors to ensure construction conforms to requirements of the Contract Documents, and the quality needed to build repeat business.

Requirements

• Physical Demands: Regularly stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear. Occasional lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds. Mental stress can be taxing. Long hours for extended periods of time. Walking/balancing and moving about on foot to perform tasks where there is rough terrain and/or impediments such as sand, mud, ice or snow.
