Position Summary
The Supervisor, Forklift Shop is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and administrative functions of the forklift shop to ensure equipment readiness, operational efficiency, and high-quality service support.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily labor operations within the forklift shop to ensure efficiency, productivity, and safety.
- Monitor and coordinate forklift accessory changes to support vessel and warehouse operations in a timely manner.
- Plan, assign, and track work orders to ensure completion within established timelines.
- Support technicians and shop personnel with scheduling, workflow coordination, and operational needs.
- Promote and maintain a safe, productive, and professional work environment.
- Identify opportunities to improve shop workflows and operational processes.
Maintenance & Equipment Support
- Verify and match parts numbers for equipment repairs and preventative maintenance activities.
- Cook up and deliver parts, materials, and equipment as needed.
- Aid with equipment management, maintenance records, and shop inventory tracking.
- Support claim resolution and vendor discrepancy investigations related to parts and services.
Administrative & Financial Responsibilities
- Process timekeeping accurately and within required deadlines.
- Enter, manage, and approve invoices in company systems, including Manager Plus, Concur, or similar platforms.
- Maintain organized records, documentation, and files related to shop operations and maintenance activities.
- Establish and maintain vendor accounts while communicating with suppliers regarding orders, pricing, availability, and claims.
- Build positive working relationships with vendors, internal departments, and operational teams.
Qualifications
- Previous supervisory or team leadership experience required.
- Knowledge of basic automotive, forklift, or heavy equipment parts and maintenance operations.
- Experience with invoice processing, timekeeping, and expense management systems.
- Familiarity with Manager Plus, Concur, or similar maintenance and expense management software.
- Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and other standard computer applications.
- Strong customer service, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced operational environment.
- Must have or meet the eligibility requirements to obtain a TWIC.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
