Key Job Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on technical assistance to resolve mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and electronic issues on construction equipment, ensuring timely and effective solutions.
- Acting Supervisor: Step in for the Field Service Supervisor as needed to oversee daily operations, support team performance, and maintain productivity.
- Warranty Process Support: Identify warranty-related concerns, coordinate repair actions, and ensure accurate documentation for warranty claims.
- Training and Development: Mentor technicians, conduct on-the-job training, and promote best practices for equipment diagnostics, maintenance, and repair.
- Customer Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with construction customers by addressing concerns, communicating service updates, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Coordination and Communication: Work closely with Leadmen and the Field Service Supervisor to prioritize jobs, allocate resources, and ensure efficient workflow.
- Documentation and Reporting: Complete and oversee work orders, service reports, inspection records, and repair documentation while maintaining accurate records for management.
- Problem-Solving: Diagnose and troubleshoot complex issues on construction equipment, including excavators, dozers, wheel loaders, motor graders, articulated trucks, and other heavy equipment.
- Safety Leadership: Promote and enforce all company and regulatory safety requirements, fostering a strong safety culture within the service team.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Education: Associate degree, technical diploma, or equivalent experience in Mechanical Technology, Diesel Technology, Heavy Equipment Technology, or a related field.
- Technical Certifications: Certifications related to diesel engines, hydraulics, electronics, electrical systems, or heavy equipment repair are preferred.
- Industry Knowledge: 3+ years of experience in the construction equipment, heavy equipment, or related industry, with extensive hands-on diagnostic and repair experience.
- Leadership Skills: Prior experience leading crews, mentoring technicians, or coordinating field service activities is preferred.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with customers and team members.
