Superintendent – Civil-Electrical Construction
Job Summary
The Civil/Electrical Construction Superintendent is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing complex construction projects that integrate both civil and electrical elements. This position requires a seasoned professional with extensive experience in managing diverse teams, interpreting technical plans, and ensuring project compliance with safety standards and quality benchmarks.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Oversee multiple construction projects, ensuring compliance with safety standards, quality control, and deadlines.
- Civil Construction Leadership: Guide teams in grading/dirt-work, road construction, utilities installation (underground and aerial), concrete and asphalt work, electrical systems, fencing, and storm drainage infrastructure projects, ensuring accurate and efficient project execution.
- Plan Interpretation and Implementation: Accurately interpret and execute construction plans, specifications, and regulatory requirements.
- Team Leadership: Lead, manage, and motivate project teams, including 3rd Party vendors/subcontractors, foremen, operators, and laborers, fostering a culture of collaboration and high performance.
- Schedule and Resource Management: Develop and execute project schedules, coordinate material procurement, and address project-related challenges.
- Training & Mentorship: Provide professional development opportunities, promote skill enhancement, and share industry best practices.
- Site Inspection & Safety: Conduct regular site inspections to enforce safety protocols, ensuring a safe work environment and adherence to safety regulations.
- Survey & Layout Assistance: Assist with field layout and surveying activities as needed to ensure construction accuracy.
- Managerial Responsibility: This position has direct reports.
Travel/Shift Requirements
Travel more than 75%. Physical Demands: Work outdoors in all weather conditions (sun, rain, ice, snow, fog, hot, cold, etc.). Must have the ability to lift at least 100 lbs on uneven terrain regularly. Perform various physical activities: climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking and hearing. Operate a motor vehicle.

- Must be willing to travel 75-100% of the time.
- Willing to work weekends when needed.
- Proficiency in safe and proper ground/civil rigging techniques.
- Able to read and interpret construction drawings.
- Competence in digital photo management.
- Proficient with Microsoft Suite and Dropbox.
Education And Experience Required
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- First Aid/CPR Certified.
- OSHA 10 Certified.
- RF Safety Awareness completion.
- Equipment Operator Certificate(s).
