About The Role
Vanguard Maintenance & Electrical is seeking an experienced Field Superintendent to lead day-to-day electrical and low voltage construction operations at the Galaxy Helios data center. Reporting directly to the Project Manager, this role owns field execution on a single mission critical site — coordinating manpower and schedules, enforcing safety and quality standards, and keeping installation on plan and on pace. The ideal candidate is a hands-on field leader with strong electrical or low voltage construction experience, capable of directing Foremen, crews, and trade partners in a live data center environment where uptime, sequencing, and workmanship are non-negotiable.
Responsibilities
- Direct daily electrical and low voltage construction activities on-site at the Galaxy Helios data center
- Report to and partner with the Project Manager to align field execution with the project plan, schedule, and budget
- Lead, mentor, and manage Foremen and field crews to meet production goals and milestone dates
- Coordinate manpower planning, crew allocation, and work sequencing across areas, floors, and phases of the build
- Ensure all work complies with the NEC, applicable codes, mission critical specifications, and company safety policies
- Conduct routine jobsite walks to verify installation quality, cable management, terminations, and safety compliance
- Coordinate with the GC/CM, commissioning agents, Project Engineers, and other trades to protect sequencing and site access
- Review drawings, submittals, specifications, and work plans to confirm correct installation before and during execution
- Identify and proactively resolve field issues impacting schedule, productivity, or quality — escalate to the PM early
- Enforce QA/QC standards and hold crews accountable to mission critical workmanship expectations
- Maintain professional communication with the client, inspectors, and trade partners on site
- Track daily progress, manpower, and jobsite conditions and report to the Project Manager as required
Requirements
- 5+ years of electrical or low voltage construction experience with supervisory responsibility
- Prior experience as a Superintendent, General Foreman, or Foreman on a commercial or mission critical project
- Data center, mission critical, or large-scale industrial project experience
- Strong knowledge of electrical and low voltage systems, installation methods, and construction sequencing
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, riser diagrams, and specifications
- Demonstrated leadership, decision-making, and crew management skills
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work on-site full-time for the duration of the project
- Valid driver's license
Preferred Qualifications
- Low voltage, structured cabling, controls, or BMS installation experience
- Experience supporting commissioning and turnover in a data center environment
- OSHA 30 certification
- Experience coordinating with GC/CM, commissioning agents, inspectors, and multiple trade partners
- Familiarity with pull planning, Lean construction, or BIM coordination
- Proficiency with construction management software and digital daily reporting platforms
