Superintendent

Philadelphia, part of the STO Building Group, is seeking a Superintendent for our interior projects throughout Philadelphia.

About the Role

The Superintendent is responsible for the timely and cost-effective field coordination, quality control, and day-to-day supervision of subcontracted work forces for construction projects.

Responsibilities

• Prepares the project schedule and maintains accurate reports describing project status.
• Reviews status and project progress with the Project Manager and client representatives on a regular basis (large projects include multiple Superintendents).
• Ensures safety standards and requirements are implemented and adhered to by craftsmen and others when operating tools and equipment.
• Directs sub-contractor activities within ground-up construction projects.
• Analyzes manpower, material, and equipment requirements, and interfaces these requirements with others as designated by the supervising superintendent.
• Implements and enforces policies, procedures, and related work rules as established by field construction management.
• Prepares reports and forecasts, keeping supervisors informed on progress of overall assigned activities.
• Coordinates Lock-out Tag-out with responsible subcontractors for utilities such as Nitrogen, Vacuum, Compressed Air, RODI, and Steam.
• Manages QA/QC and ensures understanding of client engineering specifications or requirements.

Requirements

• 5+ years of field experience, including supervisory responsibility as a General Foreman, Field Engineer, or Assistant Superintendent.
• Well-developed communication, interpersonal, organizational, and teamwork skills.
