About the role
This role supports field operations by assisting in the day-to-day execution of construction projects under the direction of senior field leadership.
Responsibilities
- Aid in daily field operations under direction of Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent
- Support tracking of daily work activities and production progress
- Maintain site organization, cleanliness, and basic safety standards
- Observe trade activities and report progress or issues to field leadership
- Absorb and report on work being performed in accordance with drawings and specifications
- Participate in site walks to gain understanding of project execution
- Document field conditions, issues, and completed work
- Absorb and follow established field processes and procedures
- Absorb and complete assigned tasks reliably
- Develop and maintain 3-week look-ahead schedules with trade partners
- Partner with Project Managers to maintain detailed project schedules
- Monitor critical path activities and long-lead items
- Create pull planning and phase planning sessions
- Monitor schedule performance and implement corrective actions as needed
- Hold trade partners accountable to project milestones and contractual commitments
- Coordinate deliveries, material staging, and site access
- Track progress of scheduled activities and communicate delays or conflicts to project leadership
- Absorb and coordinate daily trade partner activities to support planned sequencing and workflow
- Identify potential field risks and communicate mitigation needs to project leadership
- Absorb and align daily field operations with project schedule and site logistics plans
- Absorb and document field impacts, schedule changes, and site conditions
- Absorb and maintain logs related to deliveries, manpower, and daily site activities
- Absorb and participate in coordination and planning meetings to support project execution
- Absorb and assist with implementation of site logistics and operational plans
- Absorb and support communication between field teams, trade partners, and project management regarding scheduling priorities
- Support project execution from mobilization through closeout
- Absorb and assist with communication and coordination with trade partners and vendors
- Attend coordination and progress meetings and document key takeaways
- Absorb and track and distribute project updates, RFIs, and field communications
- Absorb and maintain organized project records and documentation
- Absorb and support closeout activities such as punch lists and turnover documentation
- Develop professional working relationships with project stakeholders
- Absorb and ensure timely communication of field information to project team
- Track trade partner work progress and report performance concerns
- Absorb and help monitor material usage and deliveries
- Absorb and identify scope gaps or inconsistencies in the field
- Absorb and support cost tracking through daily reports and field data collection
- Absorb and maintain organized records of field-related cost impacts
- Absorb and build positive working relationships with trade partners
- Follow all company safety policies and jobsite requirements
- Absorb and conduct safety walks and identify potential hazards
- Absorb and attend safety meetings and toolbox talks
- Absorb and report unsafe conditions or behaviors immediately
- Absorb and maintain safety records and logs
- Absorb and promote a safety-first mindset in daily activities and reinforce through personal example
- Support company initiatives and marketing
- Absorb and support collection of project data, photos, and updates for internal use
- Absorb and assist with documentation for proposals or marketing materials as needed
- Absorb and follow company processes, tools, and standards
- Absorb and participate in company initiatives when assigned
- Absorb and share observations and lessons learned with project team
- Absorb and represent Redmond Construction professionally and contribute to maintaining a positive company image through daily actions
Requirements
- 8-10 years of experience as a commercial interior Superintendent
- A degree in construction management, architecture, or project management, but there is no specific degree requirement
- Experience managing sitework, structural work, MEP coordination, finishes, punch and turnover
- Proficient in building schedules, scope development and review, contract review, financial management, and risk management
- Skilled in client retention, relationship management, and team building
- Multi-project or multi-state experience is a plus
