About the Role

Moss' Superintendents plan, schedule, organize, and direct the construction of major commercial building projects. They are responsible for all field execution of the project. Superintendents typically will have several Assistant Superintendents as direct reports and are responsible for coordinating the timely and cost-effective placement of the contracted work. They assist the Project Manager and/or Project Executive on all project needs, supervise all field construction work, and ensure adherence to Safety and Quality Control policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Participates in preconstruction by identifying project requirements and Owner Contract requirements
• Conduct preconstruction meetings with all subcontractors
• Lead the team from construction start through project close
• Communicate and interpret project scope to the entire site management team
• Construct schedule by maintaining a project production schedule and assist in developing scopes of work for each subcontractor
• Manage safety by establishing safety protocols to ensure the job site consistently adheres to OSHA safety standards
• Communicate regularly with owners and other construction management team members
• Manage job progress by participating in owner’s meetings, “in-house” staff meetings, and provide written documentation on job progress
• Perform daily Superintendent reports and update schedule
• Determine a quality control plan
• Supervise assigned project personnel and maintain a positive work environment
• Manage project turnover/closeout process and assist in determining project turnover sequence
• Lead and coach new team members by providing feedback, performance evaluation, and recognizing accomplishments
• Participate in professional development activities including continuing education
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

• Bachelor’s in construction management, engineering, or related field preferred
• 6+ years’ experience as the primary Superintendent on commercial construction projects valued in the $50-$150+ million range
• Experience with multiple direct reports and an exceptional ability to lead and manage project teams
• Computer proficiency
