About the role
Loureiro Contractors, Inc. (LCI) is seeking a Superintendent with experience in building foundation excavation and related support of excavation systems for projects in Southern Connecticut.
Responsibilities
- Promote job site safety and encourage safe work practices.
- Participate in preparing the short-term work schedule, taking the lead in determining manpower requirements, material quantities, equipment needs, and ensuring the short-term schedule supports contractual schedule requirements and milestones.
- Manage subcontractors on site to support the project schedule.
- Maintain daily project documentation using HeavyJob.
- Supervise Foremen, laborers, craft workers, and subcontractors assigned to an area of responsibility; act as liaison between field engineering and field personnel to ensure work complies with drawings and specifications.
- Conduct quality inspections and coordinate onsite testing and inspections.
- Advise the Project Manager of out-of-scope work and issues that may impact the contract.
- Participate in a team approach to identify and develop solutions for potential project issues.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements

- 8+ years of heavy civil construction experience, including at least 3 years in a Superintendent or similar leadership role.
- Experience with building foundation excavation and support of excavation systems.
- Current OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification, or the ability to obtain one.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid driver's license.
- Experience scheduling work, supervising civil construction crews, leading meetings, and monitoring production.
- Ability to quickly learn LCI's policies, procedures, and software programs.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
- Strong decision-making skills and the ability to evaluate issues from multiple perspectives.
