Responsibilities
- Leads, directs, and coordinates the work of the self-perform departments and subcontractors.
- Ensures safety, scheduled delivery, quality of work performed and adherence to the budget of the project.
- Oversees and makes decisions related to the performance of work with scheduling, delivery, logistics, quality control, and trade employee staffing levels.
- Oversees work among assigned trades to promote a coordinated project operation.
- Solves project problems regarding procedures, precedence, design clarifications, adequate labor, material and equipment schedule, and all other appropriate matters.
- Manages the overall site safety program as required and ensures self-perform and subcontractor compliance with Lee standards and all applicable safety codes and regulations.
- Affords assistance in creating schedules and determining the sequencing of work.
- Develops and implements recovery strategies to maintain the project schedule.
- Communicates with owners and Lee team members in connection with field issues.
- Investigates and resolves such issues.
- Manages the work to ensure that it is installed in compliance with and conforms to the approved contract documents.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee will regularly be on-site at the project work sites ensuring projects are running according to plan.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience supervising field operations in industrial, heavy commercial, or civil construction environments.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, coordinate, and execute work in alignment with project schedules, specifications, and quality standards.
- Experience leading daily site activities, including scheduling, manpower planning, and material coordination.
- Proven ability to identify and resolve field issues, manage scope changes, and maintain productivity and quality standards.
- Proven experience managing self-perform crews and subcontractors across multiple trades.
- Skilled in conducting site meetings, including daily huddles, subcontractor coordination meetings, and project updates.
- Strong background in reading and interpreting construction drawings, specifications, and design documents.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships.
- Understands company processes, project milestones and budgetary limits.
- Virtually self-supervising with direct accountability for safety and project results.
- Demonstrated ability to coach, develop, guide, redirect and ensure productivity and quality of work performance on job sites.
- Valid driver’s license.
Physical Requirements
- Mobility & Navigation: The ability to walk on uneven surfaces, climb stairs and ladders, stoop, kneel, and bend while traversing active construction sites.
- Lifting & Carrying: Frequent ability to lift and move up to 10–25 pounds (like laptops, blueprints, or small tools), with occasional demands to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Sensory Demands: Excellent visual acuity (including depth perception and color vision) to inspect blueprints and site quality, as well as the ability to focus on specific sounds and speech in loud environments.
- Environmental Exposure: Resilience to withstand varying outdoor weather, loud noise, vibrations, and potential exposure to airborne particles or dust.
- PPE Capability: Physical ability to safely wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including hard hats, heavy boots, safety vests, and hearing or eye protection.
