Superintendent

About the role

Ledcor Technical Services has been building and servicing communication networks for customers across North America since 1979. As an experienced Superintendent, you will oversee large-scale long-haul ILA installation projects, manage day-to-day field operations, develop project plans, and monitor performance. You will anticipate client needs, provide solutions, share expertise, and mentor colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Ensure projects meet approved plans, specifications, and building codes
• Lead the development of Project Quality Plans and Safety Programs, and oversee incident investigations
• Review and update construction schedules, address delays, and contribute to project schedules
• Estimate activity durations and materials for complex projects
• Demonstrate working knowledge of reporting and tracking financial aspects of the project
• Participate in subcontractor and supplier selection, procurement, and negotiations
• Set priorities and allocate resources for the entire field team
• Provide leadership and mentorship to project staff

Requirements

• Three to five years of experience as a Telecommunications Construction Superintendent or a similar role
• Knowledge of underground fiber installation, civil, or wireless construction (a plus)
• Post-secondary education in Construction, Engineering, or a related discipline (an asset)
• Comprehensive knowledge of construction documents, drawings, specifications, and current construction practices
• Effective communication and leadership skills
• Ability to directly supervise craft employees as well as sub-contractors
• Strong problem-solving abilities and capacity to anticipate and address issues
• Strong organizational and planning skills

Working Conditions

• Able to meet physical requirements: sitting, standing, bending, climbing, lifting (up to 50 pounds), working at heights, and in all types of weather conditions (rain, snow, heat, etc.)
• Site-based position requiring travel to various Ledcor offices and project sites across multiple states on a travel rotation
