PRIMARY DUTIES
- Plan, direct and coordinate craft personnel in support of the field’s fluctuating labor needs for activities related to plumbing construction and maintenance
- Direct, support, and mentor all subordinate supervisory personnel
- Ensure compliance with safety and administrative requirements
- Serve as senior technical advisor
- Aid with difficult construction and start-up problems as necessary
- Ensure all company, department, and technical policies, procedures, standards, etc., are adhered to
- Interpret policies as required
- Aid with the implementation and interpretation of safety policies, procedures, and programs
- Participate in safety/incident investigations and reviews
- Authorize/approve all craft personnel transactions (hires, transfers, wage changes, terminations, etc.) according to individual performance and group needs
- Develop, implement and monitor quality control programs
- Monitor and resolve matters relating to work procedures, complaints, damages, accidents, and delays
- Participate in the conceptual development of plumbing construction projects (drawings - submittals ) and oversee their organization, scheduling (MEP, frames and concrete), and implementation
- Requisition of supplies and materials for construction projects
- Routinely prepare and submit labor and cost-tracking reports
- Aid in the development of supervisory training programs
- Provide expertise and technical knowledge to other home office department heads
- Assume superintendent responsibilities when necessary or as directed
- Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Journeyman Plumber’s License
- High school degree or equivalent; some advanced education and technical training highly desirable
- Extensive (10+ years) construction plumbing labor management experience (or equivalent combination of education/training and related experience)
- Thorough knowledge of all aspects of plumbing construction (technology, equipment, methods)
- OSHA-30 certification (if not currently certified, must be obtained within six (3) months from date of hire)
- Outstanding leadership, team building, coaching and motivational skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Outstanding scheduling and forecasting skills
- Solid MS Office skills and ability/desire to learn new software
- Available for 25% travel (may vary significantly among individuals in this position)
