Key Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise all on-site construction activities, ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule, and per contract documents.
- Cook up and direct subcontractors, trades, and site personnel to meet project milestones and maintain productivity.
- Enforce and promote a strong safety culture; implement site safety plans, conduct toolbox talks, and ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety standards.
- Review plans, specifications, and drawings to verify scope and resolve field discrepancies with project managers and engineers.
- Maintain quality control, perform inspections, and address non-conforming work promptly to maintain project standards.
- Manage site logistics and sequencing for deliveries, temporary utilities, site access, and equipment placement to optimize workflow.
- Communicate regularly with project leadership, owners, and stakeholders to report progress, risks, and schedule changes.
- Support procurement and materials management by identifying long-lead items, tracking deliveries, and minimizing downtime.
- Lead and mentor field crews, provide direction on task execution, and resolve personnel or performance issues as needed.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Construction Superintendent or similar field leadership role (typically 5+ years preferred).
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex projects, coordinate multiple trades, and manage on-site construction operations.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, sequencing, quality control, and safety regulations.
- Mandatory field skill: Superintendent-level experience managing projects and crews.
- Nice to have: Experience in commercial, manufacturing, or industrial project environments.
- Nice to have: OSHA 30-hour certification or willingness to obtain it promptly.
- Able to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and RFIs.
- Proficient with construction management tools and software (e.g., scheduling software, Procore, MS Office).
- Excellent communication, leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation; ability to work on-site and travel between locations as required.
- Physical ability to work in construction environments, including lifting, climbing, and extended periods outdoors.
