Job Description Summary
Provide overall on-site administrative and technical management on construction project site. Oversees the day-to-day operations of work performed including work performed by sub-contracted vendors.
Responsibilities
- Maintain project safety in accordance with all safety requirements and enforce all policies.
- Identify and manage all safety hazards related to the general public.
- Construct the project in accordance with the plans, specifications and standard work practices.
- Work closely with the project team to ensure all required paperwork and documentation is completed in a timely and accurate manner.
- Supervise craft workers assigned to the project.
- Plan work schedule, determining manpower levels, materials quantities, equipment, requirements, etc.
- Avoid unnecessary overtime and extended general conditions.
- Accurately reflect hours worked on craft time cards.
- Report equipment hours weekly for all equipment utilized during the past week.
- Coverage of project materials.
- Ensure that all lay out is accurate and that information is conveyed to all trades being performed.
Skills And Abilities
- Understand and interpret safety laws and company policies/standards.
- Read and interpret blueprints and other technical drawing and documents.
- Project management and organizational planning skills.
- Communicate verbally and in writing with people of all knowledge levels.
- Lead and work as part of a team.
- Prior direct profit and loss responsibility and accountability.
- Excellent customer service skills and client-relationship development skills.
- Thorough understanding of basic and complex construction management processes and building techniques.
- Thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction (technology, equipment and methods); craft agreements, negotiations, engineering, estimating, schedules and safety required.
- Excellent communication, organizational and supervisory skills.
Education And Experience
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction management or equivalent combination of technical training and/or related experience.
- Knowledge of various construction disciplines, safety regulations, scheduling, cost control, engineering drawings and other documents, plus ability to supervise and evaluate craft performance is essential.
Certifications And Licenses
- Valid driver's license, good driving record required.
