Superintendent

About the role

Lead and direct onsite personnel and subcontractors in planning, coordination, and execution of work to deliver a quality project safely, on schedule, within budget, and meeting profit goals while enhancing client relationships and the company’s image. Work location will be based on the assigned project; home office is in Houston, TX.

Responsibilities

• Effectively plan, schedule, oversee, and manage onsite activities to ensure project goals and schedules are met.
• Maintain a strong working knowledge of project plans, specifications, contracts, purchase orders, daily correspondence, shop drawings, submittals, and other project documents, and keep accurate as‑built drawings.
• Proactively schedule and coordinate all subcontractors to ensure timely completion without additional costs.
• Monitor subcontractors’ work to ensure compliance with construction and engineering standards, codes, contract documents, drawings, specifications, schedules, safety, environmental rules, and quality control/assurance standards.
• Handle project set‑up, including obtaining trailers, equipment, signage, postings, personal protective equipment, and other items per company procedures.
• Complete accurate daily reports (weather, subcontractor manpower), safety logs, equipment rentals, and cost coding.
• Guide the project to completion, manage close‑out, and oversee the punch‑list process to ensure timely resolution of items.
• Comply with all safety policies, report safety concerns, recommend enhancements, and visibly support the company’s strong safety culture.
• Perform other related duties as required.

Requirements

• Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
• Proven experience successfully managing construction projects for a general contractor from conception to completion.
• Design‑build experience on relevant project types.
• Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
