Job Title: Project Superintendent – Commercial Fence Construction (DMV Area)Job Description This role oversees multiple commercial fence installation projects across the DMV area, ensuring each project is executed safely, efficiently, and in full alignment with plans and specifications. The project superintendent coordinates crews and subcontractors, manages schedules and materials, and provides consistent progress updates to the management team while supporting a growing operation with significant potential for expanded responsibilities and financial growth. Responsibilities Oversee multiple commercial fence installation projects simultaneously within the DMV area.Ensure all projects are executed in accordance with approved plans, blueprints, and specifications.Coordinate daily project scheduling and logistics for field crews and subcontractors.Confirm that crews and subcontractors have the necessary materials, tools, and information to complete their work.Manage subcontractor performance, including assigning work, monitoring progress, and addressing issues as they arise.Conduct and lead toolbox talks to reinforce safety standards and project expectations.Maintain site safety by enforcing OSHA guidelines and company safety policies on all project locations.Monitor construction activities and site conditions to ensure quality, safety, and adherence to budget expectations.Provide detailed daily progress updates and reports to the management team.Track and manage project schedules to keep work on time and aligned with milestones.Support budget management by monitoring resource usage and identifying potential cost impacts.Perform regular site management duties, including inspections and coordination with field personnel.Collaborate with office staff to align field activities with project documentation and administrative requirements.Visit a variety of project sites daily to oversee work, resolve issues, and support crews and subcontractors. Essential Skills Proven experience in commercial construction, preferably with oversight of multiple projects at once.Strong blueprint reading skills to interpret plans and specifications accurately.Demonstrated experience in subcontractor management, including coordination and performance oversight.Hands-on site management experience in a construction environment.Experience with schedule management for field crews and subcontractors.Solid understanding of site safety practices and OSHA requirements.Ability to conduct toolbox talks and communicate safety and project expectations clearly.Experience preparing or delivering daily reports and progress updates.Budget awareness and the ability to support budget management on construction projects. Additional Skills & Qualifications Background in commercial fence installation or related construction trades is highly beneficial.Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and project sites.Effective communication skills for coordinating with crews, subcontractors, and office personnel.Ability to travel between various project locations within the DMV area on a daily basis.Motivation to grow into expanded responsibilities within a rapidly growing operation.Comfort working in both field and office settings, adapting to changing project needs. Work Environment The role operates in a mixed field and office environment, with the superintendent spending significant time visiting and overseeing a variety of active construction sites each day. Work includes on-site coordination of crews and subcontractors, site inspections, and safety oversight, as well as office-based tasks such as reviewing plans, schedules, and daily reports. The position is part of a growing operation in the DMV area, offering substantial potential for professional growth in responsibility and financial advancement. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Capitol Heights, MD. Pay And Benefits The pay range for this position is $40.86 - $48.07/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
