Responsibilities
- Lead daily field operations on active construction sites, ensuring work progresses safely, efficiently, and according to project plans and specifications.
- Coordinate and manage subcontractors on site, including scheduling their activities, clarifying expectations, and ensuring they have the resources and information needed to complete their work.
- Maintain a strong on-site presence whenever subcontractors are working, actively monitoring progress, resolving issues, and keeping the project on track.
- Create, maintain, and update short-term schedules, including 3–4 week look-ahead schedules, to align field activities with overall project milestones.
- Run and facilitate on-site project meetings with subcontractors, internal project teams, and other stakeholders to communicate priorities, resolve conflicts, and maintain alignment.
- Collaborate closely with project managers and assistant project managers, providing timely updates on progress, issues, risks, and resource needs.
- Prepare and complete daily reports using Procore, documenting work performed, manpower levels, safety observations, site conditions, and any significant events or delays.
- Ensure compliance with safety policies and OSHA standards, promoting a strong safety culture and addressing unsafe behaviors or conditions immediately.
- Work collaboratively with skilled trades, including carpentry and masonry, to sequence work effectively and resolve technical or constructability challenges.
- Support and participate in design-build processes as needed by coordinating field activities with design intent and clarifications.
- Hold subcontractors accountable for performance, deadlines, and quality, taking a hands-on approach to problem-solving rather than relying on minimal oversight.
- Aid in managing general construction activities on multi-family, hospitality, manufacturing, and other commercial projects, ensuring alignment with project goals.
- Use basic computer skills to manage documentation, schedules, and communication through Procore and other tools.

Requirements
- 5+ years of construction experience, preferably in commercial and industrial projects.
- Demonstrated experience as a superintendent or in a similar field leadership role on commercial construction projects.
- Strong experience in commercial construction, including multi-family, hospitality, manufacturing, and other heavy commercial work.
- Proficiency with Procore for daily reporting, documentation, and project coordination (Procore experience is required).
- Strong experience in coordinating and managing subcontractors, including scheduling, oversight, and performance management.
- Strong understanding of skilled trades such as carpentry, masonry, and general construction, and how they interact on a project.
- Experience working with general contractors on commercial construction projects.
- Experience developing and maintaining 3–4 week look-ahead schedules and aligning field activities with project milestones.
- Strong communication skills with internal teams, subcontractors, and clients, both verbally and in writing.
- High attention to detail and strong documentation skills for daily reports and project records.
- Basic computer skills for email, documentation, scheduling, and project management tools.
- Solid understanding of OSHA safety standards and a strong safety focus on active job sites.
- Ability to push subcontractors to meet deadlines while maintaining quality standards.
- Capability to work independently as the primary on-site leader and make informed decisions in the field.
- Willingness and ability to work early morning shifts, extended days, and occasional Saturdays as required by project needs.
Qualifications
- Associates or bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field is preferred but not required.
- Diverse commercial construction experience, including multi-family, hospitality, entertainment, manufacturing, or large residential projects such as condominiums.
- Experience with design-build project delivery and coordination between design and field execution.
- Construction Trade experience, particularly in carpentry, is highly valued for candidates without a formal degree.
- Foreman-level experience with a desire and readiness to step into a superintendent role, provided the candidate demonstrates strong leadership and communication skills.
- Experience working with union trades, especially carpenters, on commercial projects.
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects where profit margins and subcontractor performance require a hands-on, accountable approach.
- Eagerness to grow within the organization and take on increasing responsibility over time.
- Strong sense of ownership over deadlines, quality, and overall project success.
