About the role

The Superintendent 4 position at Manhattan Construction Company is responsible for overseeing field operations to ensure safe, timely, and profitable project completion. This role requires strong leadership, organizational, and time management skills, along with excellent communication and client service abilities.

Major Duties & Responsibilities

• Implementation of Operation Zero and all Manhattan safety policies
• Day-to-day on-site supervision of field labor force
• Review and approve Trade Contractor Pay Applications and material invoices with the Project Manager
• Develop and maintain a site logistics plan in coordination with the Project Manager
• Manage quality program
• Coordinate site testing and inspection reports
• Monitor costs, including labor time and material
• Manage self-perform features of work
• Manage the CPM schedule and look ahead schedules
• Attend and lead portions of, if not all of, project meetings, including but not limited to preconstruction, preinstallation, subcontractor, owner, and safety
• Create daily reports and report quantities
• Absolutely mobilize the site and set up utilities
• Absolutely secure necessary permits and inspections
• Review and verify Request for Information (RFIs)
• Review and approve submittals for processing
• Conduct themselves in accordance with our Guiding Principles and exhibit attributes matching the Way We Work

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree- Construction Management, Engineering or equivalent
• May substitute required education degree with related experience on a one-to-one basis
• 12 years of industry experience
• Led at least 3-5 projects or ran multiple complex projects of varying size projects to be determined by regional operations
• Project experience in K-12 and institutional sectors

Working Conditions and Physical Efforts

• Adaptable to all types of weather conditions and traverse and inspect all areas of a construction job site, including walking, climbing, reaching, bending, crawling, or stretching
• Ability to physically stand, bend, sit for long periods, and squat throughout the day
• Ability to repeat the same movements
• Ability to communicate effectively to participate fully in meetings, video conferences, and phone calls
• Ability to compose, send, and reply to emails and written correspondence
• Must be able to lift, pull, or move up to 50 pounds at a time
• Travel may be required occasionally, primarily in the metropolitan area but sometimes domestically (must have a valid Driver’s License)
• Exposure to characteristic construction site hazards
