Responsibilities
As Paper Machine Superintendent, you’ll take on real challenges that bring out your full potential. Your Scope Includes:
- Leading daily paper machine operations to achieve SQDEP performance targets (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Efficiency, People)
- Drive execution of daily management systems, including structured shift handovers and production reviews
- Monitor performance, identify losses, and implement corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives
- Lead, coach, and develop frontline supervisors and hourly employees to build capability and accountability
- Champion a strong safety culture through visible leadership, audits, and incident investigations
- Partner closely with Maintenance and Quality teams to improve reliability and process performance
Qualifications
You're a natural fit for Paper Machine Superintendent if you have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical Engineering, or related field preferred. Experience in lieu of a degree will be considered
- 5–8+ years of progressive experience in paper manufacturing or similar heavy industry
- Proven leadership experience managing supervisors and/or production teams
- Strong technical understanding of paper machine operations
- Demonstrated ability to drive results and continuous improvement
- Experience in a Production Supervisor role, Superintendent or Production Manager role preferred
- Exposure to reliability programs or manufacturing excellence systems
- Willingness to relocate, relocation benefit offered
