About the role

Harris Health seeks a Medical Technologist to perform a variety of routine and special diagnostic procedures on clinical specimens for use in diagnosis and treatment of diseases. This position requires performing high complexity testing according to established procedures, validating and reporting test results, maintaining quality control, performing instrument and equipment maintenance, and documenting these activities.

Responsibilities

• Performs a variety of routine and special diagnostic procedures on clinical specimens for use in diagnosis and treatment of diseases.
• Performs high complexity testing according to established procedures.
• Validates and reports results of tests performed.
• Maintains Quality Control.
• Performs instrument and equipment maintenance according to policy and procedures.
• Maintains adequate stock of reagents and supplies.
• Participates in continuing education.

Requirements

• Education/Specialized Training/Licensure: B.S. Degree in Medical Technology or related science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics) OR Certificate of Completion of a Medical Technology Training Program. OR Associates Degree in Medical Technology/Clinical Laboratory Science or related science WITH ASCP Certification as a Medical Technologist ' MT (ASCP).
• Equipment Operated: PC, printers, scanners.

• Communication Skills: Above Average Verbal (Heavy Public Contract), Writing / Composing (Correspondence / Reports)
• Other Skills: Analytical, CRT, Medical Terms, Research, Statistical, P.C., MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access
