SUN Extended Day Soccer Coach

About the Role

The Extended Day Soccer Coach will work with the SUN Site Manager to provide soccer drills and lessons in good sportsmanship after school. This part-time, temporary, non-exempt position is compensated at $18 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Teach soccer drills and good sportsmanship after school
• Track and ensure academic and developmental progress of student groups of 10-15 children, ages 6-14
• Act as a positive role model for students
• Participate in and implement program safety to ensure students are in a safe environment

Requirements

• Experience playing and practicing soccer; understanding of the rules and regulations
• Experience working with school-aged children from diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds
• Desire and ability to work with children to ensure an enriching, positive, and safe classroom setting
• Experience developing and effectively executing plans for a diversity of students
• Ability to document work continually and communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
• Strong organizational and time-management skills; ability to prioritize and complete multiple and varied tasks
• Sensitivity and ability to relate to people from diverse lifestyles, socioeconomic levels, and cultures
• Willingness to work as a team member and support the mission and goals of Latino Network
• Bilingual and bi-cultural familiarity

Additional Requirements

• Regularly work in schools and in the community as needed, including client homes, schools, churches, parks, and community centers
• Evening and weekend availability may be required; work hours are flexible to accommodate program implementation
• Reliable car, driver’s license, and automobile liability insurance; must be eligible to be an insured driver under Latino Network’s Commercial Auto Liability
• May require heavy lifting and walking during events and outreach activities
• Must pass a criminal background check including fingerprinting
