Primary Responsibilities
- Aid in the oversight of extended day programs and supervise volunteers, teachers, and participants.
- Organize family nights and special events.
- Manage the SUN program in the absence of the SUN Site Manager.
- Provide homework support, tutoring, and mentoring to at-risk students and those needing additional academic support.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with participating youth from diverse backgrounds.
- Actively build rapport with students, staff, and families.
- Outreach and recruit community organizations and resources to support the SUN program, the school community, and neighborhood, and the needs of students and their families.
- Ensure a safe and secure environment for participants.
- Track participants and monitor the building for safety and security.
- Create and advertise classes, communicate with parents about schedules and changes, and ensure the smooth running of classes and activities.
- Provide classroom instruction and supervision as needed.
Qualifications
- Experience working with youth in a social service, recreation, or educational environment is preferred.
- Minimum of one year experience in the field of education or related human service field.
- Ability to be a positive role model.
- Some knowledge in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Publisher and Google Docs.
- Able to create attractive promotional materials.
- Willingness to be trained in Service Point Database.
- Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
- Self-motivated, creative, dependable, pays attention to detail, hardworking, and possesses good organizational skills.
- Bilingual candidates and cross-cultural knowledge are highly preferred.
