Summer Waterpark Slide Monitor

About the role

Under the direction of the Aquatics Director, the slide monitor prevents accidents before they occur to promote the general safety of slide participants and to protect life at all times.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety and well-being of slide participants.
• Position yourself for optimal supervision of slide ladder and launch areas.
• Manage timing of participants' slide ladder ascent, check minimum height requirements, and launch into the slide.
• Provide clear and consistent expectations for behavior; set firm limits with positive phrasing and actions as necessary.
• Work in conjunction with aquatics staff to promote safety first.
• Follow and enforce all safety procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Positively correct any unsafe pool activity immediately, every time, without exception.
• Be knowledgeable and prepared to implement emergency procedures immediately.
• Report all incidents/accidents on the appropriate form and provide to supervisor within 24 hours of the event.
• Never leave the slide unattended.
• Report any facility or equipment irregularities to the supervisor in writing.
• Maintain cleanliness of the deck and perform other cleaning duties as assigned.
• Attend all required training and scheduled meetings.
• Maintain good attendance and follow procedures for tardies and absences.
• Maintain effective, positive relationships with members, participants, staff, and volunteers.
• Support Strong Community Campaign fundraising efforts.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
