Summer Seasonal Kitchen Assistant

About the role

Neighborhood House is seeking a kitchen assistant to support day-to-day operations in our kitchen, preparing meals for over 500 children and adults each year. This position offers opportunities to learn and grow culinary skills while contributing to the mission of enriching, empowering, and educating families.

Responsibilities

• Aid in meal preparation and cooking for large groups
• Assist with setting up carts for breakfast, lunch, and snacks daily
• Maintain clean work areas, including cleaning equipment and storage spaces

Requirements

• Must be available Monday-Friday from 7:30am-3:30pm
• Self-motivated, driven, responsible, and highly dependable
• Experience operating a commercial kitchen
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• Age 18 or older
• Current Food Handlers Permit
• Pass Childcare Licensing Background Check
• Pass Drug Test
• Bilingual a plus, but not required
