Position Overview

Professional Educator – Baseball & Softball

  • Teach and reinforce core baseball/softball fundamentals
  • Lead age-appropriate skill development drills for campers ages 5–12
  • Execute our structured Mets Camps curriculum with consistency and energy
  • Create a safe, positive, and accountable camp environment
  • Identify teachable moments during drills and games
  • Work collaboratively with Site Directors and coaching staff

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience teaching children ages 5–12
  • Confidence demonstrating and correcting fundamental baseball or softball skills
  • Strong classroom management in an outdoor setting
  • Enthusiasm, structure, and accountability in leading
  • Dependability and professionalism
  • Ideal backgrounds include Elementary Teachers, Physical Education Teachers, After School Program Leaders, Health & Wellness Educators, Special Education Teachers, and Teachers who have played or coached baseball/softball at a high school level or above
  • Coaches with youth sports coaching experience

Compensation

  • Professional Educator Rate: $23.00/hour
  • To qualify for this rate, candidates must have at least 1 full school year of paid teaching experience
  • Provide proof of teaching certification (preferred but not required if equivalent experience proof can be provided)
  • Additional coaching roles available at different rates

Schedule & Commitment

  • Monday–Friday (no weekends)
  • Approximately 8-hour camp days
  • 3–5 week minimum commitment preferred
  • Camps run weekly from June 15 – August 21, 2026
  • Reliable transportation required

Camp Locations

  • Connecticut: Fairfield, Westport, Stamford, Darien, New Canaan
  • New York: Manhattan, Brooklyn, Bayside, Elmont, Stony Brook, Smithtown, Huntington, Rye, Pleasantville, Mamaroneck, Hartsdale
  • New Jersey: West Windsor, North Caldwell, Millburn
