POSITION OVERVIEW: Intern will gain hands-on exposure to the banking industry with a primary focus on credit analysis, lending, and relationship management. This internship is designed to provide meaningful learning opportunities through job shadowing, project work, and interaction with banking professionals across multiple departments. The intern will gain insight into the overall operations of a community bank, develop an understanding of how financial institutions evaluate credit risk, support borrowers, and manage lending relationships. Develop an understanding of cash flow evaluation and credit risk assessment. Gain exposure to the 5 Cs of Credit and other underwriting principles. Assist with reviewing financial information, loan presentations, and credit-related projects as appropriate. Lending Experience The intern will observe and learn about the lending process from application through approval and servicing, including: Consumer, mortgage, agricultural, and commercial lendingLoan documentation and processingCustomer interactions and relationship managementLoan structure and pricing considerationsLending regulations and policy requirements PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT Participate in team meetings and trainingsAttend customer or community events when appropriateComplete special projects related to lending, credit, or banking operationsPresent key learnings or project outcomes to bank leadership Desired Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, Agricultural Business, or a related field. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Attention to detail and organizational skills. Interest in banking, lending, financial analysis, or relationship management.
