New York Edge is seeking passionate and enthusiastic Summer Camp Food Explorer Specialists. Multiple openings are available across 5 boroughs.

What is a Food Explorer Specialist?

New York Edge is looking for individuals to fill the seasonal role of Summer Day Camp Food Explorer Specialist. In this role, you will play a crucial part in the successful operation of the Summer Day Camp program. Specialists are responsible for leading Summer activities for children and teens at New York Edge program sites.

What will you do?

• Build strong relationships with and among students
• Teach or co-lead daily activities
• Establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects, and communicate those objectives to students
• Instruct participants on the activities' principles, techniques, and safety procedures and show them how to use materials and equipment properly
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Requirements

• A High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Must be 18 years old
• Prior degree in or currently studying Nutrition, Public Health, and/or related fields preferred

Schedule

Part-Time Seasonal (July 1st – August 14th)

• Elementary school: Monday- Friday 12pm-6pm
• Middle school: Monday-Thursday 12pm-6pm, Fridays 8am-6pm (until August 7th)

Pay

$20-25/hour (based on experience and credentials)
