Summer ENL Teacher

About the role

The Summer ENL Teacher will support students in grades 9-12 who are English Language Learners (ELLs) by providing intensive language instruction and academic support.

Responsibilities

• Provide small group and individualized instruction to ELL students
• Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with district curriculum standards
• Assess student progress and adjust instruction accordingly
• Collaborate with classroom teachers and other school staff to support student success
• Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Education or related field
• Valid New York State Teaching Certificate in English Language Arts or related area
• Experience working with English Language Learners preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Qualifications

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Passion for teaching and supporting diverse learners

Skills

• Knowledge of Second Language Acquisition theories
• Experience with differentiated instruction
• Proficiency in technology tools for education
