About the Role

YMCA Camp Chickami is a traditional summer day camp located in Wayland, MA. Founded in 1955, Camp Chickami has inspired kids with countless opportunities to laugh, lead and make lasting friendships. Together, our proven programs and trained counselors deliver meaningful and memorable camp experiences that keep families coming back year after year after year.

Responsibilities

• Lead and facilitate various activities including archery, arts & crafts, nature exploration, new games, and ropes courses.
• Ensure safety protocols are followed and maintained throughout the camp sessions.
• Engage with campers to build positive relationships and foster a supportive environment.
• Collaborate with other counselors to plan and execute camp activities.
• Assist with administrative tasks such as maintaining camper records and managing supplies.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience working with children preferred.
• Ability to work flexible hours including mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Pass a background check.

Qualifications

• Positive attitude and enthusiasm for working with children.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing situations.
• Basic computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Pay

$14.00 - $17.00 per hour based on experience and qualifications.
