About the role

YMCA Camp Chickami is a traditional summer day camp located in Wayland, MA. Founded in 1955, Camp Chickami has inspired kids with countless opportunities to laugh, lead and make lasting friendships. Together, our proven programs and trained counselors deliver meaningful and memorable camp experiences that keep families coming back year after year.

Responsibilities

• Supporting campers in a variety of activities including sports, arts, crafts, games, and outdoor adventures.
• Ensuring the safety and well-being of campers at all times.
• Collaborating with other counselors to plan and implement daily schedules and activities.
• Assisting with administrative tasks such as maintaining camper records and managing camp supplies.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience working with children preferred.
• Ability to work flexible hours including mornings, afternoons, and evenings.
• Pass a background check.

Qualifications

• Positive attitude and enthusiasm for working with children.
• Good communication skills and ability to interact effectively with children and adults.
• Ability to follow directions and work independently.
• Basic computer skills.

Pay

• Junior Counselor: $14.25 - $14.50 per hour.
• Senior Counselor: $14.75 - $15.50 per hour.

Schedule
