Summer/ Co-op Engineer

MPR has a wide and growing client base in electric power (generation—both renewable and nuclear—as well as transmission & distribution), federal services, and health and life sciences. We work throughout the United States and internationally. Headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia, we also have offices in East Lyme, Connecticut; Burlington, Massachusetts; and Salt Lake City, Utah.
About the Role
We are actively searching for students excelling in a variety of technical disciplines, including:

Responsibilities
We offer the opportunity for students to work and learn across multiple project disciplines, helping to formulate collaboration and deliver technically informed business insights to our clients. Typical engineering projects may involve:
- Thermal hydraulic, structural, and electrical analysis in support of the power and data center industry (both new nuclear and the current nuclear operating fleet)
- Product development (including mechanical design, software development, printed circuit board design, systems engineering, and testing)
- Data analytics (including automation, machine learning, management, and security)
- Capital project management and planning
- Networking systems (including communication network diagrams, system architecture, designs, risk assessments, and feasibility studies)
- Advanced nuclear technology design, analysis, and deployment
Qualifications
The ideal candidate is able to work collaboratively on engineering teams as well as independently to produce high-quality technical deliverables. Students will work on project teams with junior and senior engineers, providing opportunities to learn from recognized industry-wide experts.

- Advanced computer skills (preferred, including familiarity with programming languages such as C++ or Python, analysis programs such as Ansys or MATLAB-Simulink®, and design programs such as SolidWorks)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail

Positions are available during the spring, summer, and fall semesters.
