General Job Description

MPR has a wide and growing client base in the fields of electric power (generation, both renewable and nuclear, as well as transmission & distribution), federal services, and health and life sciences. We work throughout the United States as well as internationally.

Typical Engineering Projects

• Thermal hydraulic, structural, and electrical analysis
• In support of the power and data center industry on both New Nuclear and the current Nuclear Operating Fleet
• Product Development (including mechanical design, software development, printed circuit board design, systems engineering and testing)
• Data Analytics (including automation, machine learning, management and security)
• Capital Project Management and Planning
• Networking Systems (including communication network diagrams, system architecture, designs, risk assessments, and feasibility studies)
• Advanced nuclear technology design, analysis and deployment

The Ideal Candidate

• Able to work collaboratively on engineering teams as well as independently to produce high-quality technical deliverables
• Work on project teams with junior and senior engineers to learn from and work with recognized industry-wide experts
• Excellent academic record
• Highly motivated and proactive
• Strong desire to pursue a technical career path
• Robust analytical skills, including the ability and passion to problem solve
• Aptitude to work outside of a single engineering discipline and quickly learn new concepts
• Advanced computer skills preferred, including familiarity with programming languages such as C++ or Python, analysis programs such as Ansys or MATLAB-Simulink®, and design programs such as SolidWorks
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Attention to detail

Opportunities

• Positions are available during the spring, summer, and fall semesters in our corporate headquarters located in Alexandria, VA, as well as in our branch offices in East Lyme, Connecticut, and Burlington, Massachusetts.
