Summer Camp Counselors - Goldwood Camp

About the role

The YMCA of Greater Cleveland seeks Seasonal Camp Counselors to join our team and help provide quality, safe, and healthy programs and services in our community. The role involves implementing and delivering camp activities for children of all ages.

Responsibilities

• Implement and deliver camp activities for children
• Work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds, abilities, opinions, and perceptions
• Ensure safety and supervision of campers
• Engage in recreational activities such as sports, games, and outdoor recreation
• Lead singing, music, skits, and other creative activities

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Associates Degree preferred
• At least 18 years of age
• One year experience working with children in a day camp setting preferred
• Experience with outdoor recreation, songs/music, skits, sports, aquatics, games, etc.

Qualifications

• Ability to work effectively with people of different backgrounds, abilities, opinions, and perceptions
• Comprehensive background check for all employees who work with children and youth

Skills

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing situations
• Knowledge of child development and safety protocols
