Summer Camp Counselor

About the role

Dedham Health and Athletic is hiring enthusiastic and experienced individuals to lead the summer camp program. The camp runs from June 8 to August 28, 2026, with flexible shift arrangements.

Qualifications

• Experience working with youth or previous camp counselor experience
• Preferred but not required: experience in theater, drama, performing arts, LEGO Building, or related creative construction activities
• Able to work outside for 8 hours a day in various weather conditions
• Emotionally mature, responsible, and punctual
• Team player and willing to work hard
• Outgoing, assertive, and friendly
• Able to take direction and take initiative

Responsibilities

• Create a magical summer experience for campers by guiding them through new activities and fostering new friendships
• Redirect campers to follow camp-appropriate behavior and maintain safety rules
• Act as a role model, using child-appropriate language and modeling important life skills
• Participate actively with campers throughout the day
• Help campers keep track of their belongings and maintain group structure
