Summer Associate

Ansell.Law is seeking a Summer Associate to join our esteemed law firm. All candidates must be in their second year of law school and in the top third of their class, with legal counseling and litigation exposure preferred. Prior law clerk experience is a plus.

About the role

Location: 1500 Lawrence Ave, Ocean, NJ 07712

Responsibilities

• Significant and substantive legal research and writing
• Attend court, take depositions, and engage in all aspects of busy commercial litigation practice in state and federal court
• Communicate with courts, counsel, and clients
• Research cases by interviewing, reading dispositions, reviewing evidence, and speaking with clients to determine the best strategy
• Advise clients on litigating disputes concerning construction and insurance matters
• All other duties and responsibilities as delegated

Requirements

• Must be entering their second year of law school in the fall of 2026
• Must be knowledgeable in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.)
• Must be resourceful and work as a team player as well as independently
• Must be able to work shift hours and seasonal changes based on the needs of the business
• Must be able to lift 10-20 lbs., sit for extended periods of time, use stairs, reach, twist, bend, stretch, climb, walk, and/or run
• Experience with the IManage Document Management System and Orion is a plus

Pay

$55/hour

Schedule

9:00 AM – 5:15 PM, Monday through Friday
