About the role

As an intern at NFA, you will gain unique insight into the global derivatives industry and its regulatory framework, applying critical thinking, data analysis, and risk assessment skills developed in the classroom. You'll work alongside a high-performing team, assisting in innovative investigative strategies that support our regulatory mission.

You'll learn about complex derivatives markets from experienced staff and gain hands-on experience evaluating documents, procedures, and financial statements for possible compliance deficiencies or rule violations. Responsibilities

• Assist a high-performing team in carrying out investigative strategies that support NFA’s regulatory mission.
• Evaluate documents, procedures, and financial statements for compliance deficiencies or rule violations.
• Participate in projects that provide hands-on experience in the derivatives markets.
• Engage in industry-specific training and internal educational programs to build professional skills.

Requirements

• Pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in a business-oriented major with expected graduation within one year of the internship.
• Overall minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher preferred.
• Nine credit hours of accounting, including an intermediate accounting class, by graduation.
• At least three credit hours of accounting completed at the time of application.
• Ability to work in NFA's New York office full-time (beginning June 2027).
• Effective teamwork skills and alignment with NFA's values of approachability, trustworthiness, courtesy, and integrity.
• Strong leadership and strategic thinking skills, a sense of accountability, and enthusiasm for learning.

Pay

$27/hour
