Summer 2027 Intern

About the role

Great Plains Manufacturing, a Kubota Company, is currently accepting applications for its 2027 Summer Internship Program. Internships are based in one of five communities in North Central Kansas: Abilene, Assaria, Lucas, Salina, or Tipton. The company is a leading producer of agricultural implements and construction equipment, with headquarters in Salina, Kansas.

Responsibilities

• Work full-time from Mid-May to Early-August
• Earn $20 per hour
• Receive housing in Salina, KS for those living outside the area
• Complete a project with a mentor and peers
• Participate in organized activities to get to know other interns and Great Plains employees

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in a relevant Engineering or Business Major from a 4-year accredited university
• Willingness to live within commuting distance of the assigned location, typically in the Salina, KS or Abilene, KS area
• Ability to work full-time on-site (40 hours/week) during the Summer
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Completion of a pre-employment physical examination and drug screening test within a week of your first day of employment
• Proof of identity and legal authorization to work in the United States, and completion of an Employment Eligibility Verification Form I-9

Qualifications

• Completed at least 30 credit hours by beginning of internship
• Self-motivated with good project management, organization, and planning skills
• Communicates plans and information in a concise, effective manner in both verbal and written forms
• Willingness to learn and exhibit critical thinking skills
• Positive approach to problem-solving and teamwork
• Proficiency in MS Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
• Basic CAD software knowledge helpful for engineering internships
