SUE Technician III

Duties, Responsibilities & Other Duties

• Operate and maintain a vacuum excavation truck and related equipment safely and efficiently
• Possess the ability to designate/locate a variety of underground utilities, create legible field sketches, perform simple mathematics, conduct field measurements, document daily activities, and perform records research
• Perform other duties as assigned

Experience

• Minimum of 2 - 4 years of utility locating or designating using many types of pipe and cable locating devices
• Experience with Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) is preferred
• Understanding basic traffic control and the hazards associated with working in and around traffic and follow safety precautions

• Ability to follow instructions
• Possess the ability to be trained, mentored and have a positive can-do attitude
• Leadership and mentoring skills
• Able to identify surface features associated with various utilities
• Basic knowledge of various underground utilities
• Ability to perform some equipment maintenance tasks
• Mechanical aptitude is desired

Qualifications

• Education and/or Skills Required: Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience
• Highschool Diploma/GED Certificates
• Licenses, and/or Registrations Required: Valid Driver’s License
• Pre-employment drug screening and background check are conditions of employment.
