Responsibilities
- Assist with Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) investigations, including electromagnetic (EM) locating, ground penetrating radar (GPR), utility tracing, marking, and data collection.
- Support Quality Level Investigations (QL-D through QL-A) and verify utility locations in accordance with ASCE 38-22 standards.
- Assist with surveying activities, including topographic surveys, construction layout, as-built surveys, boundary surveys, leveling, traversing, and profile/cross-section surveys.
- Maintain SUE and survey equipment through cleaning, calibration, and preventative maintenance.
- Prepare and organize field equipment and vehicles for daily operations.
- Record accurate field notes and documentation following established procedures and quality standards.
- Perform physical field tasks such as line clearing, setting monuments, locating underground utilities, and pounding stakes.
- Adhere to company and site-specific health and safety requirements.
- Communicate effectively with Crew Chiefs, Project Managers, and other team members.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding field work.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
