About the role

The SUDC Justice Services & Clinical Support position is a credentialed substance-use treatment role responsible for delivering assigned SUD services in prison, jail, and halfway-house settings and providing SUD-focused clinical support to Odyssey House Admissions when justice-services programming does not use the full FTE. Reporting to the Clinical Director, this position facilitates evidence-informed SUD groups, completes required service documentation, coordinates with justice-system partners, and supports substance-use portions of intake and biopsychosocial assessment within credentialed and agency-defined scope.

Responsibilities

  • To expand Odyssey House justice-services SUD programming and make effective use of credentialed clinical capacity, the SUDC is responsible for reliable delivery of prison, jail, and halfway-house services; timely documentation; justice-partner coordination; approved revenue-support activities; and SUD-focused intake/BPS support when not scheduled for groups.

  • Facilitate assigned jail-based SUD services or groups when permitted by facility, contract, payer, and credentialing requirements.
  • Facilitate assigned halfway-house SUD groups and maintain continuity with Odyssey House and justice-system expectations.
  • Deliver services to fidelity based on approved curriculum, clinical direction, facility requirements, and Odyssey House standards.
  • Maintain a reliable group schedule and promptly communicate barriers, facility changes, cancellations, or access issues to the Clinical Director.
  • Documentation & Revenue Support:
    • Complete timely, accurate group notes, attendance documentation, progress documentation, and required communications for all services delivered.
    • Document services in a manner that supports approved billing or contract requirements when reimbursement pathways have been validated.
    • Support operational evaluation of prison, jail, and halfway-house services for reimbursement under applicable contracts, payer requirements, credentialing standards, and service codes.
    • Accurately track approved billable or contract-eligible services and provide required information for revenue-cycle or contract reporting.
    • Maintain compliance with Utah SUDC scope, Odyssey House policy, correctional-facility requirements, confidentiality standards, and documentation requirements.
  • Admissions & BPS Clinical Support:
    • When not scheduled for justice-services programming, assist with SUD-focused portions of intake and BPS work within credentialed and agency-defined scope.
    • Gather detailed substance-use history, prior SUD treatment, relapse/return-to-use history, overdose and IV/needle-risk history, MAT/MOUD history, recovery supports, and justice/re-entry information.
    • Support intake events and high-volume admission periods when group schedules permit.
    • Collaborate with BHCDS and LMHT staff so SUD-specific factual information is complete and available for licensed clinical review.
    • Do not allow routine intake work to displace the primary prison, jail, and halfway-house programming assignment.
    • Expectations Prison, jail, and halfway-house groups are delivered as scheduled with reliable coverage. Documentation is completed accurately and within required timelines. Approved billable or contract-eligible services are captured accurately after reimbursement requirements are validated. Clients receive consistent, evidence-informed, recovery-oriented SUD programming within credentialed scope. Justice-system relationships are maintained professionally and communication with partners is timely. Available non-group time is used productively for SUD-focused intake/BPS support and other assigned clinical-support activities.
