Description
The Substance Use Counselor will assist patients through medically assisted treatments and offer techniques for handling opioid addiction. Responsibilities include conducting individual and group sessions, evaluating patient progress, and collaborating with doctors, nurses, and other counselors.
Responsibilities
- Assists patients through medically assisted treatments and offers techniques for handling opioid addiction.
- Conducts individual and group counseling services at regularly scheduled intervals.
- Coordinates all services throughout the treatment process.
- Facilitates, establishes, and reviews the initial treatment plan with each patient.
- Completes bio-psychosocial assessments and develops aftercare and discharge plans.
- Ensures efficient and effective delivery of counseling services to all patients in a trauma-informed manner.
- Performs other related duties as determined by the supervisor.
Qualifications
- Must possess an Ohio CDCA, LCDC II, LCDC III, LPC, or LSW license.
- Previous experience working with chemically dependent individuals is preferred.
- Demonstrate a positive, non-judgmental, and accepting attitude toward the patient population.
- Understand and be proficient in an EMR system (electronic medical records).
- Satisfactory drug screen and criminal background check required.
