About the role
We’re hiring full-time Food Service Supervisors to join our passionate Food Services Team. Alongside a manager, you’ll help oversee staff, collaborate with teammates, and assist where needed. This is an opportunity to grow your career while leading others and pursuing what matters to you.
Weekends required on a rotating basis. Open availability needed for approximate schedules: 1pm–10pm or 6pm–12:30am.
Responsibilities
- Produce and maintain work schedules; may prepare production packets (production sheets and recipes).
- Direct daily activities and ensure food production meets safety and quality standards according to policies, procedures, and department requirements.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and hazard-free food storage environment.
- Oversee serving schedules to ensure food items are served per menu specifications following Aramark policies and procedures.
- Maintain a sanitary department in compliance with health and safety codes and regulations.
- Conduct accurate weekly inventory; prepare orders as needed to ensure accurate production.
- Supervise and evaluate employees; counsel staff and promote employee growth, efficiency, morale, and teamwork.
- Maintain a safe and hazard-free working environment.
- Train and mentor other food service workers.
- Maintain logs for all equipment maintenance required within the department.
- Ensure all food safety and temperature logs are completed with appropriate corrective action as necessary.
- Perform preventative maintenance checklists.
- Recommend replacement of existing equipment to meet facility needs.
- Demonstrate proficiency in multitasking.
- Perform other duties as requested by the Food Service Director or Manager when skills and experience are vital.
- Fill in for absent employees at the location as necessary.
- Maintain knowledge of daily catering events and confirm preparation and on-time delivery.
- Work occasional night and weekend catered events.
- Attend food service meetings with staff.
- Maintain communication with staff (including office staff, email, phone calls, inter-office mail, etc.).
- Perform cashier duties as needed.
- Promote good public relations.
Requirements
- Must read, write, and understand verbal instructions.
- Must complete a sanitation course either before or during the first year of employment.
- Must be knowledgeable in operating an efficient, cost-effective program.
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic.
- Maintain emotional control under stress.
- Ability to resolve interpersonal situations.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Must obtain a food safety certification within 6 months of hire if not currently valid.
